Applications are currently being accepted for the Class of December 2019 (September 2018, start date). The application deadline is March 1, 2018 for the class entering in September 2018.

 

Classes are tentatively scheduled to begin on September 4, 2018. Approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, the curriculum reflects a 16-month nursing program (60 weeks of instruction with breaks throughout), with a requirement of four (4) pre-requisite college credit* courses completed prior to entry, for a potential total of 20 months leading to a diploma in nursing.

 

To be considered for September 2018, admission, all pre-requisites need to be successfully completed (with a “C” (2.0) or better) by a date to be determined.  An official transcript showing proof of completion must be received by the Washington Health System School of Nursing prior to the start of orientation to begin enrollment with the cohort of students in September 2018. 

 

*Pre-requisite college credits include:  Human Anatomy (or Anatomy and Physiology I) with lab, Human Physiology (or Anatomy and Physiology II) with lab, English Composition, and Developmental Psychology.  NOTE:  All science credits (Anatomy and Physiology) must have been completed within the past five years, as well from the same institution.

 

The admission procedure includes the ATI TEAS examination with a minimum Academic Preparedness Level of Proficiency with a score of greater than or equal to 65% being recommended.  If the ATI TEAS is taken a second time, the higher score will be considered. 

 

Applications are also currently being accepted for the Class of August 2020 (April 2019 start date). The deadline for applications (approximately 6 months prior to the start date), yet to be determined.

Washington Health System School of Nursing presently provides a 16-month nursing program of study (20 months including pre-requisite courses) leading to a diploma. The school is fully approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

 

Founded in 1897, the school proudly claims over 4,000 alumni and a reputation for a quality nursing program. Beginning in April 2015, students accepted into the nursing program will have completed 4 prerequisite college courses in general education, arts, and sciences. From this foundation, students will apply the knowledge acquired in their nursing courses.
