First Bariatric Surgeries Performed at Washington Health System

As we begin a new year, Hope Bariatrics begins operating at the Washington Health System. On Monday, January 13, Gregory H. Wilcox, MD, FACS and Michael D. Felix, MD, FACS, will perform gastric bypass on three WHS patients.

 

In addition to gastric bypass, Dr. Wilcox and Dr. Felix will also be performing sleeve gastrectomy and adjustable lap banding at WHS.

 

Dr. Wilcox, a native and resident of Sewickley, received his medical training at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine and completed his medical residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. He is certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. He serves as Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Director at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Dr. Wilcox is a member of the American College of Surgeons.

 

Dr. Felix received his medical training at Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Mercy Hospital. He served as a United States Naval Officer. He is certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. He serves as Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Director at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Washington Health System and St. Clair Hospital. Dr. Felix is a member of the American College of Surgeons.
